Making it so your small business is able to stand out from the competition should always be a top priority.
That said how much effort do you make on a consistent basis to be different from that of your competitors?
If not doing enough to differentiate you from the competition, will you make changes?
At the end of the day, the goal is to show why your brand is relevant and different from others.
Make Customer Service a Prime Focus
As you do what it takes to stand out from others, never lose sight of the importance of customer service.
In going that extra mile for customers, you can often separate you from others in your industry. By doing so, you could well see more sales and revenue falling into your lap.
While you may think you are providing the best in customer service, go straight to customers to find out.
By asking them in person, emails and texts, surveys and more you will know if you meet their requirements. If you do not, you have more work to do.
Another key area of focus is making sure you have the best in products and services to offer customers.
So, take time to review what it is you offer and if there is more you could be doing.
Keep in mind that many folks have an array of opportunities when it comes to buying from businesses. As such, you want to make sure you are the first choice in your respective industry.
So, if you for example have a day spa, salon or similar business, look at things like a massage table and other items. Do they provide customers with the best service each time they come to visit you?
When it comes right down to it, you need reasons to make customers pick you over those you compete with.
Appreciate Those Keeping You in Business
Even when things seem to be going well and customers like what it is you have to offer, this may not always be enough.
With that in mind, do you take the time to say a simple thank you to those buying from you?
Yes, offering a thank you can go a long way.
Finally, you should treat customers as you’d expect to be treated when the shoe is on the other foot.
So, make it a point to treat them with the utmost respect for starters.
Stop for a moment and think if you would do business with a company that failed to treat you well. Odds are you would move on from them rather fast. Should you do such a thing, odds are most people would not blame you for doing so.
That said you want to appreciate your customers. Always remember that they in fact are the ones keeping you in business to begin with.
As you reassess where your business is at, are you doing enough? That is where you can put some distance between you and the competition?
