Buying a new home is expensive enough as it is but once you purchase it, you still need to start working on your decor.
You likely are going to be working with a budget and if your ideas are bigger than your current budget, it is always a good idea to work on one or two spaces at a time.
If you are starting from scratch, this is doable with a budget between $3,000 and $5,000 if you shop around.
- Shop around for great quality at a low price – You can do a lot of things in your budget if you know how to stretch your money and make it work for you.
The best way to do this is by shopping around for the things that you want so you can pay the lowest price.
- Work on main areas first – You do not have to get all the decorating done at one time. If you have a guest room, that should not be your priority. However, your bedroom and the main living space should be some of the first things you work on.
- Get necessities – Some of the things you will need to purchase include your bed, headboard, window treatments, light fixtures, and other furniture.
Make sure you have a list of what you need to finish these main areas so you know what to look for when shopping and you at least get your basic items. Once you have those, you can move on to other items that you would like to have.
