How is Organic Meat Better than Conventional Meat?

0

At your local grocery store, you would see two types of meat available these days: organic and non-organic or conventional. While the addition of organic meat is recent, conventional meat has been in use for the longest.

However, there are many differences between both the types. One common difference is the price. Organic meat is slightly more expensive than conventional meat. Apart from that, there are some more differences, some of which are listed here.

Antibiotic Content

Usually, conventional meat is raised in a crowded place where multiple cows are raised together creating stress among them. The stress results in illness and infections for which they need to be injected with antibiotics and medications. This leads to a change in the quality and texture of the meat.

On the other hand, organic meat is derived from cows that are raised in a safer and more controlled environment. This allows them to be free of illnesses and no need of medications. As a result, the quality, texture, and taste of the meat are retained hence its popularity.

Organic Means Grass-fed

The cows from which conventional meat is derived are usually fed with grains. The grains predominantly include soy and corn. As a result, the taste of the produced meat is average and needs to be processed and cooked through various methods for it to be delicious.

On the other hand, organic meat is produced from cows that are grass-fed. The best available grass in the market is alfa alfa or Lucerne. This grass is high in nutrients (20% higher protein content than usual fodder) which is essential for cows to develop a good texture and taste in their meat.

Raised in Pastures

As mentioned above, conventional meat cows are raised in crowded and restricted places. This forceful raising process detriments the quality of the meat achieved.

On the flip side, organic meat cows are allowed to roam freely in pastures during their raising process. They are also allowed to eat the required amount of grass for desired growth. The restriction-free lifestyle during the cow’s growing stage allows the meat to be extremely well-textured and good in taste.

Natural Product

The very core concept of organic means natural. Organic meat is considered to be completely natural whereby no preservatives or coloring is added to the meat to make it seem more appealing and mouth-watering.

This is where the Papa Earth organic meat is procured from local farms and delivered fresh without the risk of any artificial ingredients.
