This IPL is perhaps the most unpredictable IPL ever because of the kind of indifferent structure it has had. IPL usually is a one-time event which is held over a couple of months and once the teams get on a run, they start to dominate and go on a run of form. This is one IPL which has been divided into April and September and that is a major change from the usual self. So, predicting a winner for this kind of a cricket match prediction is going to be tough. So let us analyze chances of all the teams which seem to be in contention
Chennai Super Kings – The Yellow army is at the top of the table right now and you can expect them to be competing in the qualifiers or the eliminator at the very least. They are looking really solid with the kind of combination they have with a good mix of spinners and seamers who on their day can turn the game on its head.
Delhi Capitals – Delhi Capitals is doing brilliantly in this version and the finalists of the last time around would look to better their effort and compete for the title this time around. They have Shikhar Dhawan doing really well in the competition and Avesh Khan has been bowling beautifully to dismiss batsmen late in the innings
Royal Challengers Bangalore – This year, they looked really good in the first half of the competition but they are not looking good in the UAE leg of the competition so if things are to turnout well for them this time, they will be looking to pick their maiden tournament up and the maiden trophy for Virat Kohli for whom this is going to be a final bite at the cherry here.
Mumbai Indians – The 5 times champions are right now away from the top 4 zone but they will be looking to get things straight in the final few games like they always do. If the final few games go well for them, then they will be in the finals eventually. Never count them out is what we have learnt from the IPL experience
Rajasthan Royals – A young squad and a young captain will be looking to compete and be a part of the final four to give themselves a semblance of a chance here. They recently pulled off an unlikely win to show character and that is going to be one big boost for their confidence going forward.
Sunrisers Hyderabad- This is a team that at the moment looks down and out completely in the tournament and are at the finals spot but the Orange Army can come back and qualify but it would also be quite the struggle with only a few games left right here in the tournament
Punjab Kings – Punjab is a team that is led by the maverick KL Rahul. This is going to be quite the struggle for them after they recently lost a close game, one they should have won. They will be expected to at the least fight till the very end and be competitive.
Kolkata Knight Riders – They have performed beautifully since the start of the phase 2 of IPL and have fought their way back to the relevance here. This is one of the dark horses here with a leader who knows how to win. Eoin Morgan’s resolve and calmness under tough situations is going to be tested right here. They will hope to see it through this time around and get the trophy home once again.
